| DSAT Tec Deep | | DLL Blog
| By Alex Varnals onFriday, February 23, 2007 8:14 AM | |
| DSAT Tec Deep program started today. Cathy and Nick are both really excited about the opportunity of developing their own personal diving limits with twinsets and two stage decompressions cylinders only part of the new equipment they will be using, we wish you the best of luck. Alex was helping Luke prepare for his IANTD Advanced Recreational Trimix course by orientating him to his equipment and running through some skills and drills. Matt and Emma joined us to practice some skills in the 5m pool. They are both booked onto the Drysuit and Nitrox Specialties in March. Thanks to Mark and Vanessa who were helping out on shore cover. This consists of more than just ensuring people are logged air in and air out of the water. It usually involves getting a little wet helping people in and out of the water, helping with equipment issues and generaly supporting the rest of the instructional team. | | |

| Lots Of Great News! | | DLL Blog
| By Alex Varnals onWednesday, February 14, 2007 9:54 AM | |
| Kathy came along for her first Discover Scuba Diving session at Tong Recreation Centre. After a little apprehension at the start, the session progressed really well. With Chris and Alex guiding her through this session, Kathy has now decided to take up the Open Water Challenge. Well done Kathy.
Not to be out done, but young Declan, who after several sessions, this time Underwater Kung Foo Fighting with TDM Luke, has also taken up the challenge, signing up to his Junior Open Water diver course. Matt & Emma came along for their first pool session with us, after a very cold entry into UK diving with their 4 degree dive at Blue Lagoon on Saturday..... in 8mm wetsuits, I feel cold at the thought of it. Thankfully they have now signed up to their PADI Drysuit Specialty program, here's to keeping warm guys....

| Congratulations to Mike Fell and Chris Dalby who have just completed the OWSI Course here at Diving Leisure Leeds.
The water was cold at Capernwray, so I hear, ha ha ha. But the guys worked hard and got through the program with flying colours. They even learnt to tie knots underwater with their eyes shut, quite impressive Mr Baggins....

| Back in the pool at Tong Recreation Centre, the guys finished off their confined water presentations, practiced some more rescue skills and reviewed some more skills from their skill circuits.... Keep going guys, nearly there.
We have also thawed out Matt and Emma, after their first UK dive with Luke, in 4 degree centigrade water, in 8mm wetsuits. They managed a whopping 12 minutes before they crawled out a shade of blue..... Drysuit weather me thinks!!!
